DTU Compute is Denmark's largest environment for mathematics and computer science, an internationally unique academic environment spanning the scientific disciplines mathematics, statistics, computer science, and engineering. The interdisciplinary research areas are big data and data science, artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), smart and secure societies, smart manufacturing and life sciences. DTU Compute also embraces both the deep theory and the practical applications and enables researchers to pass on new ideas to innovative products for the benefit of business and public institutions. All DTU engineering students must go through the department as part of their education. At the same time, many engineers are trained to later become specialists in the department specific areas.
