NEW is the EDP Group's Research and Development Centre, with the mission of creating value through collaborative R&D in the energy sector. It is fully committed to innovation and research with a strong focus in technology demonstration projects. Among other areas, EDP NEW is very active in the topics of smart grids, smart cities and communities, digitalization, renewable energy technology and flexibility in energy systems. Currently, the center boasts over 50 researchers and more than 40 projects in their portfolio.
