Energieinstitut an der JKU Linz (EI-JKU)

Company overview

As a non-university research institution, the Energieinstitut an der JKU Linz (EI-JKU) has a multidisciplinary structure: the inter- and transdisciplinary cooperation of the three departments of the Energieinstitut – Energy Economics, Energy Law, Energy Technology – enables a comprehensive and interdisciplinary analysis of the future topic of energy. New challenges require new approaches, partly with new and partly with tried and tested instruments. In particular, we pursue a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to the development of the energy system. The EI-JKU demonstrates significant expertise in the field of industrial symbiosis and collaboration, particularly in the context of the energy sector. They are key partners and leaders in a wide range of research and development projects, focusing on the active development of the energy system. Annually, the institute engages in about 100 R&D projects at both national and international levels, indicating a broad scope and impact of their work.
