The federation counts over 80 members in 24 EU countries. Most members are local and regional Energy Agencies but an increasing number of regional authorities are joining the network in search of a representative thematic network on EU energy and climate issues. FEDARENE promotes the initiatives taken by its members at the European level but also brings the local and regional dimensions into European debates. It organises and coordinates, on a regular basis, working groups where participants exchange ideas, experiences and best practices. The FEDARENE office promotes local and regional energy transition programs and policies through its communication channels including a website (www.fedarene.org) constructed as a repository of solutions from across Europe; highly followed social media accounts enabling to reach and inform a large community of stakeholders; a bi monthly newsletter ("Bulletin") informing regions and energy agencies across Europe; multiple publications, policy recommendations, briefing and magazines strengthening bottom-up dialogue and interregional transfer of knowledge.
