RWE Power is a subsidiary of RWE AG, Germany’s largest power producer. RWE Power employs approximately 10,000 employees, working in lignite open cast mines, power plants, upgrading facilities and administration. The company contributes with its power production capacity of about 13 GW based on lignite, nuclear and hydropower to the broad energy mix of the RWE group with renewable energies and natural gas. Within the project, the RWE Power operational infrastructure at Niederaussem has been used for the testing campaigns of the integrated TAKE-OFF demonstrator under real boundary conditions (WP3).
