University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER) is the largest technical faculty and the leading educational and R&D institution in the field of engineering in Croatia. It consists of 12 departments and offers studies in bachelor, master, and postgraduate programs. FER has around 700 employees, including 300 academic staff. To date, around 25,000 engineers have graduated from UNIZG-FER. Each year, UNIZG-FER enrolls approximately 650 first-year students, with about 500 of them ranking among the top 1000 high school graduates in the state examination for higher-level mathematics and physics. FER is currently engaged in more than 150 active research, development, and innovation projects, with a total value for FER of around 44 million euros. The projects cover a broad array of fields, including artificial intelligence, robotics, IoT, smart buildings, renewable energy, smart grids, sustainable food, environment, space, HPC, semiconductor technologies, and the blue economy.
