Company overview
The Institute for Computer Science and Control (SZTAKI), founded in 1964 as the member of the state-owned chain of institutions, has nearly 300 full-time employees including about 80 with Ph.D. The Institute gained world-wide reputation in computer science, systems- and control theory, engineering and business intelligence, machine perception and human-computer interaction. We apply our results for manufacturing, automotive industry, logistics, energy and sustainable development, security and surveillance, Big Data analytics, networks, and distributed computing.
The institute is Centre of Excellence in Information Technology, Computer Science and Control of the European Union since 2001. As the first institute from the Central Eastern European region, ERCIM (European Research Consortium of Informatics and Mathematics) granted full membership to SZTAKI in 1994. Since 2010, SZTAKI hosts the Fraunhofer-SZTAKI Project Centre for Production Management and Informatics (PMI).
