GridTECH Connect Forum – Northeast

New England has set ambitious clean energy goals and is well on its way to weaning off fossil fuels, but major obstacles remain along the path to 100% renewable energy, including the intermittent nature of wind and solar, lack of land for large utility-scale projects, and increasingly harsh weather.The region is tasked with modernizing its grid to account for more distributed energy resources while maintaining stability- accounting for record peaks and an emerging duck curve- yet policy inconsistencies and regulatory barriers across state lines impede progress.
