Sherif Fahmy

Born in Egypt, I pursued my bachelor's and master’s studies at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. My academic journey led me to specialize in Electrical Engineering with a focus on smart grids and technologies during my master’s years. After my graduation in 2017, I embarked on a Ph.D. journey at EPFL's Distributed Electrical Systems Laboratory (DESL), under the guidance of Prof. Mario Paolone. In November 2022, I successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis titled "Efficient Methods for the Operation of Active Distribution Networks in Unsymmetric and Uncertain States". Subsequently, I joined Zaphiro Technologies, a Swiss-based smart-grid deep-tech solution provider, where I currently serve as a Technical Sales Manager. My academic trajectory underscores my strong passion for advancing the global energy transition, with a particular emphasis on enhancing the efficiency of the electrical power grid.
