Javier Rodriguez Roncero

I hold a Master Degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master Degree in Business Administration, and I have developed my professional career in different leading multinational companies in the Energy Sector. Back in 1995, I started in the Oil and Gas sector working for Repsol at La Coruna Refinery, where I held different positions in the Project Engineering and Maintenance Departments. In 2000, I joined Telvent (now Schneider Electric), a leading provider of SCADA, DMS, GIS and Distribution Automation systems as Business Development Manager for Utilities, where I had the opportunity to meet multiple utilities all over the globe. In 2009, I joined Landis+Gyr, a leading global provider of integrated energy management solutions, where I held different positions as Business Development Manager for Iberia, Business Development Manager Smart Grids EMEA, Sales Director EMEA and currently Head of EMEA Bid Strategy & Management. I am also a Director and/or Member of the Board of Directors in different Landis+Gyr local entities in Europe (Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Slovenia). In 2019, I was elected as a member of ESMIG Executive Committee, representing Landis+Gyr. ESMIG is the European voice of smart energy solution providers, and its members provide products, information technology and services for multi-commodity metering, display and management of energy consumption and production at consumer premises. ESMIG works closely with EU policy makers and other EU associations to make: Europe energy and water systems cleaner, reliable, more efficient and the European consumer informed, empowered and engaged. In the last General Assembly held in Belgrade in 2024, I was elected as President of ESMIG for a 2-year term. As President I am excited to work with all our members and stakeholders to drive the adoption of smart meters and smart energy solutions in Europe; advocating sustainable and innovative solutions, fostering collaboration, and driving positive change. Finally, I am also a member of the PRIME Alliance Management Board since 2009, representing LandisGyr.
