World wide Expertise
Ing Joseph Nkrumah is a visionary energy engineer and project strategist with over a decade of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing renewable energy systems across Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa. As Manager for Renewable energy at Bui Power Authority, he leads the technical and strategic execution of the landmark 250 MWp Bui Hydro-Solar Hybrid Project, one of Africa’s most ambitious hybrid energy initiatives.
His portfolio includes pioneering work on Ghana’s first-ever 11.5 MW floating solar PV systems installations at Bui which set a regional precedent for innovation in water-based solar deployment. He also played a central role in the development and operation of the 100 MWp ground-mounted solar PV plant, demonstrating his capacity to scale complex infrastructure with precision and impact.
Joseph’s current focus lies in hybrid energy integration, combining solar PV (ground and floating), battery energy storage systems (BESS), thermal generation, and hydropower. He is also spearheading feasibility studies for wind energy deployment within the Bui enclave, reinforcing his commitment to diversified, climate-resilient energy solutions.
Beyond utility-scale projects, Joseph contributes to national electrification efforts by deploying on-grid and off-grid solar systems in underserved communities advancing Ghana’s renewable energy mandate and bridging energy access gaps through technical excellence and inclusive planning.
