Paul Spies

Paul Spies is the CEO & Founder of FALKRAFT, a strategy and implementation consultancy focused on accelerating strategically critical energy transition projects across the globe. Throughout his career, Paul has worked with stakeholders along the entire energy value chain – including transmission system operators, distribution grid operators, utilities, technology providers, and municipalities. His expertise spans strategic repositioning, digital transformation, business model development, and market entry. Previously, he shaped the strategic direction of an energy competence center within a consulting firm and led cross-functional teams in complex transformation projects. Earlier, he built and headed the “IoT & Smart City” division of a German energy and water network operator, establishing the unit, defining its go-to-market strategy, and positioning the company as a smart city and digital infrastructure partner. Paul studied in five countries and holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). He speaks German, English, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
