CATNIp
In-depth understanding of molecular architectures is critical for building optoelectronic devices inspired by photosynthesis. Funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme, the CATNIp project will facilitate studies on the interplay between molecular charges and excited states, offering resolution down to the atomic and single-electron levels. Researchers will combine tip-enhanced optical spectroscopy with atomic force microscopy on single molecules as well as multi-molecular complexes adsorbed on multilayer insulating films. CATNIp results will allow addressing fundamental questions such as how excess charges influence molecular excitons, or whether and how it is possible to tailor energy transfer between molecules by introducing localised charges within or close to the molecular complex.
