CircoMod

There is no doubt about whether the circular economy (EC) can reduce future greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and increase resource efficiency. The question is how. To find the answer, the EU-funded CircoMod project will develop a new generation of advanced models and scenarios. Current models and scenarios do not generally include CE options. They also lack information about possible synergies of the CE with other goals like the Sustainable Development Goals. By bringing together researchers from different disciplines, including industrial ecology and material flow modelling, CircoMod will aim for a breakthrough in integrating CE and GHG mitigation assessments by developing an analytical framework that maps circular economy strategies to existing influential climate scenarios.
