COoperative Cyber prOtectiON for Modern Power Grids

The integration of information technology and operational technology systems is being used to digitise Electrical Power and Energy Systems (EPES) and to foster the growth of new ancillary services markets through distributed renewable energy sources. Unfortunately, despite the numerous benefits that this merger has generated, it has also heightened the risks associated with cyberattacks. The EU-funded COCOON project aims to develop a vital interdisciplinary approach to safeguarding these systems and environments. The ultimate objective is to establish a cyber-physical protection strategy that can adapt, detect and mitigate attacks, while also enhancing security mechanisms and attack diagnoses.
