DESTINY
About: Ocean waves can help meet the global energy demand and contribute towards a low-carbon energy society. While they have extraordinary potential, wave energy converters (WECs) have not been successful in terms of commercialisation. Key to making progress towards this, is appropriate control technology. In this context, the EU-funded DESTINY project aims to advance WEC control technology with an innovative and dependable nonlinear optimal control framework. This will provide stakeholders in ocean engineering and wave energy fields with a tool that can help WEC technology reach economic viability.
