Electrified aircraft propulsion refers to the use of thrusters (propellers or blowers) driven by electric motors to propel aircraft. In order to ensure that the electrical system provides the electrical energy needed for propulsion efficiently while containing electromagnetic emissions within safe limits, several components of this technology must be developed or improved.
The EU-funded EASIER project is the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers from different countries who will carry out research on many topics related to electrical energy systems. In particular, they will study filter systems that suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI) and lightweight electrical wiring interconnection systems that limit the emission of EMI. In addition, they will focus on improving the transfer of heat from the electrical systems to the exterior of the device.
