MAKING-CITY

Today’s cities have an important part to play in tackling climate change. Reducing their carbon emissions is key. The Positive Energy District approach is at the heart of the urban energy transition. In this context, the EU-funded MAKING-CITY project aims to help cities across Europe and beyond adopt a long-term City Vision 2050 for energy transition, so that city energy systems reach an annual positive energy balance. Specifically, the project will test this approach in two Lighthouse cities: Groningen (Netherlands) and Oulu (Finland). It will be then replicated in six cities: Bassano del Grappa (Italy), Kadiköy (Turkey), León (Spain), Lublin (Poland), Trencin (Slovakia) and Vidin (Bulgaria).
