NEW MONO 2D FUN GER
With advances in electric vehicles and energy storage stations, conventional lithium-ion batteries are encountering several challenges due to the market’s demand for higher energy and power densities. New electrode materials and sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) are promising alternatives. One such material is functionalised germanane, which is expected to provide a high-capacity framework for sodium storage. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions NEW MONO 2D FUN GER project will investigate functionalised germanane’s structural and morphological features to shed light on its electrochemical activity. To produce high-capacity electrodes for application in SIBs, functionalised germanane materials will be further modified. The project will also assess the electrochemical performance of selected electrode materials.
