REACT - Renewable Energy for self-sustAinable island CommuniTies. REACT is a H2020 EU-funded project, aiming to achieve geographical island energy independency, through the optimal utilisation of RES. The cloud-based ICT solution, integrating high-flexibility distributed generation technologies, demand response, and available storage assets permits to engage both island communities and DSO/ESCOs in a renewable energy community. REACT can bring financial benefits and contribute to the decarbonisation of local energy (100% energy autonomy, -60% GHG emissions and energy costs, 10% energy savings) in 3 islands and 5 followers.Project duration: 01 January 2019 - 30 June 2023Looking for: Since REACT can provide islands with enhanced energy security, reduced maintenance costs, lower distribution losses, energy purchase at lower spot prices in a wholesale market as well as a smoothened demand profile, we are looking for potential engagement with grid operators and energy providers.Interested to learn more?
