SEANERGY

About: Europe’s ports industry is a key economic pillar, with three quarters of goods imported and exported going through seaports. However, ports are also responsible for an increase in carbon emissions and water pollution. This is why it’s important to transform polluting ports into clean energy ports. In this context, the EU-funded SEANERGY project will design a master plan for the transformation of ports. To determine what gaps need to be filled, it will analyse the current situation among port stakeholders in Europe. The overall aim is for ports to become active members of the clean energy and fuel generation grid. Bringing together partners from across Europe, SEANERGY will carry out activities such as training, reskilling, spreading awareness and creating communication channels that will set the basis for the green port transitioning.
