THOTH2

Transitioning to greener energy and implementing hydrogen require H2-ready infrastructures. The EU natural gas networks and H2NG mixtures offer a solution for the energy transition, but little research has been done so far. The EU-funded THOTH2 project aims to investigate metering technologies and develop dedicated test protocols to enable a safe and efficient repurposing of natural gas infrastructures for hydrogen usage. Developing dedicated methodologies and through experimental activities, the project will assess the performance of installed metering devices with different percentages of H2 in blending with natural gas, up to 100 % (pure H2). By doing so, THOTH2 will lay the foundation for a robust hydrogen infrastructure and help achieve the EU’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
