TITAN

Biogas is produced though processing various types of organic waste. Consisting of two main components – methane and carbon dioxide – this renewable and eco-friendly fuel could be used to produce electricity, heat and car fuel. The EU-funded TITAN project plans to build a scaled fluidised bed reactor to convert biogas into carbon and hydrogen. Project partners anticipate that the reactor will have the capacity to produce 0.6 megatonnes of green hydrogen in 2030. The produced carbon materials will be studied for two use cases: to enhance soil properties and produce silicon carbide materials.
