WINNER
The goal of the EU-funded WINNER project is to create an innovative technology platform for flexible, secure and profitable energy storage, conversion and use. The target is to develop a flexible multi-tubular module based on proton-conducting ceramic cells operating with different operation modes (e.g. fuel cells, reversible electrolysers, H2 pumps), which will demonstrate unprecedented performance in several industry-relevant applications (hydrogen production, ammonia cracking, ethylene production, electrolysis). Activities will include the development of advanced cell architectures, multifunctional electrodes and a pressure-less collection system using eco-friendly and scalable manufacturing routes. The project will build on the multidisciplinary expertise of world-leading partners in materials science, proton-conducting ceramic materials, multi-scale modelling, and advanced in situ and operando material characterisation methods.
Duration: 1 January 2021 - 31 December 2023
Partners: SINTEF; UiO, CSIC, DTU, SMT, CTMS, ENGIE and Shell.
