The University of Innsbruck’s Unit for Energy Efficient Buildings is works on energy efficiency in buildings. A main focus of research is the Passive House concept as well as Passive House components for both new builds and retrofits. The unit’s main expertise lies in the field of building physics and dynamic simulation as well as laboratory and field measurements. The team is specialised in heat and moisture transport, building construction acoustics and efficient daylight utilisation as well as ventilation and HVAC systems.
