DLR is the German aerospace research and technology centre. In its core areas, DLR develops technologies for aeronautics and space, energy, and transport, as well as security and defence research. DLR’s Institute of Networked Energy Systems develops research and innovation activities towards the success of the energy transition in the economy and society. With about 190 employees at their Oldenburg and Stuttgart sites, it develops transformation strategies and technical solutions to efficiently link the electricity, heating, transport, and industrial sectors at all levels of the energy system in a way that benefits the system. To this end, the institute works together with industry and research partners to develop a holistic understanding of whole systems and effective system solutions.
