Gas - a 'transition and destination fuel' for future energy system says Baker Hughes boss

In the face of current challenges in the energy sector, it has never been more important to innovate faster, collaborate more and drive energy efficiency to ensure net zero goals are met. And as we race to decarbonise, gas remains an essential part of the energy system.
This was one of the key messages from Dora Adamo, Industrial Segment and Growth Leader from Baker Hughes, in an interview at Enlit Europe in Frankfurt.
Gas, "in one word - essential for the future of energy...a transition and destination fuel..."
Adamo highlighted that current geopolitical events and the energy trilemma mean we need to move faster and react faster to drive energy transition, "otherwise we will not stay aligned with the commitments in the long term as well as managing the short to medium-term security issues that we have."

However, the challenges faced by the sector also bring opportunities, said Adamo, such as in energy efficiency and gas.
When it comes to energy efficiency, waste heat recovery and cogeneration are low-hanging fruit to decarbonise the future energy system, she explained.
