Uniper and Kyuden International MoU expands green business opportunities

Uniper and Kyuden International will explore potential collaboration in hydrogen and ammonia trading activities| renewable energy and CCUS.

German energy company Uniper and Japan's Kyuden International have partnered to explore potential collaboration in hydrogen and ammonia trading activities, renewable energy and carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) related activities.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to create business opportunities in hydrogen and ammonia trading activities through Uniper’s global portfolio of low-carbon and green ammonia and other hydrogen derivatives, combined with Kyuden International’s Asian and global operations.

The partnership also seeks to unlock further business expansion opportunities in Europe for Kyuden International, leveraging Uniper’s extensive expertise and commitment to developing more flexible and dispatchable power generation units in its core markets across Europe.

Andreas Gemballa, CCO of Global Origination at Uniper, commented in a statement: “We are delighted to partner with Kyuden International. Kyuden International operates globally, providing energy services such as IPP projects and transmission services.
