Voith Hydro opens new European centre for generator components
Voith Hydro has opened its newly established centre of competence for generator components in Bosnia and Hercegovina.

Global technology company Voith Hydro has opened its newly established centre of competence for generator components in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The centre is located Lukavac (Tuzla), only 1.5 flight hours away from Voith Hydro’s German headquarters in Heidenheim, where essential R&D functions for generator components are based.
The location of the centre is ideal, according to Voith, as it's close to a European supplier base of insulation materials as well as the Bosnian facility of ELIN Motoren, a Voith company, which is producing motor and generator coils and wind generator components in the region.
“With this facility, we bundle our competence for bars, coils, and poles. The location in central Europe is ideal to serve not only the European market but also Africa, the Americas, or even beyond”, says Dr. Tobias Keitel, president & CEO Voith Hydro.

Works at the facility began in 2021 with initial test productions for poles, bars and coils performed from February 2022.
After successful acceptance tests, pole production started with first orders for hydroelectric power stations in Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Life-cycle simulations and high-voltage tests for the bars and coils have also been completed having met international standards and internal quality aspirations.
