GE Vernova confirms order for hydrogen-ready power plant in Singapore
GE Vernova has confirmed an order for a 9HA.01 gas turbine for a new hydrogen-capable 600MW combined cycle power plant in Singapore.

GE Vernova has confirmed an order for a 9HA.01 gas turbine for a new hydrogen-capable 600MW combined cycle power plant to be built in Pulau Seraya Power Station (PSPS) on Jurong Island, Singapore.
The plant, operated by YTL PowerSeraya Pte. Limited, is expected to be GE Vernova’s first hydrogen-blended natural gas-fueled facility in Singapore.
The contract includes an STF-A650 steam turbine, a W88 generator, and a triple pressure with reheat Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG).
GE Vernova, POWERCHINA and SEPCO III are part of an EPC consortium in Singapore that will develop the 600MW power plant.
This project, estimated to cost S$800 million (US$604 million), is targeted for completion by 31 December 2027.

John Ng, Group CEO of YTL PowerSeraya, commented on the project: “By 2027, we intend to expand our power generation capabilities in Jurong Island, Singapore with one of the most advanced natural gas power technologies that is hydrogen-compatible, to help meet the nation’s growing electricity needs and ensure energy security.

The 9HA.01 gas turbine will initially run only on natural gas, but is capable of burning up to 50% by volume of hydrogen blended with natural gas.
GE Vernova’s DLN2.6e combustion system is standard on current 9HA.01/9HA.02/7HA.03 gas turbines. It was developed as part of the US Department of Energy’s High Hydrogen Turbine programme and enables combustion of high hydrogen without diluent.

GE Vernova’s H-class combined-cycle power plant is capable of reaching full combined-cycle plant load in less than 30 minutes, making it a suitable complement to intermittent renewable sources.
