GE Vernova wind turbine generators selected for 51MW project in India

Indian power producer and EPC Powerica Limited has selected to instal 19 GE Vernova 2.7MW -132 wind turbine generators at its 51.3MW project at Devbhumi Dwarka, Gujarat India.
The order was booked in Q2 of 2024 and turbine supply is expected to begin in November 2024.
The project forms part of the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd's XVI tranche and aims to boost the development of wind projects in the region.
Bharat Oberoi, joint managing director, Powerica Limited said: "We are pleased to utilize GE Vernova WTGs for our third consecutive Project in the state of Gujarat. The WTGs, designed for high performance and reliability, are expected to generate about 160 million units of power annually. This Project will generate enough energy to power the equivalent of thousands of homes and contribute to the adoption of renewable energy across the country.”

Powerica Limited was established in 1984 as a provider of power solutions specialising in diesel-based standby and prime power applications. In 2006, the company expanded into the renewable energy sector, commissioning its first wind power project as an Independent Power Producer in 2008.
Powerica owns and operates 11 wind farms in the state of Gujarat, India, with an aggregated capacity of 279.55MW. The company plans to increase capacity to 400MW by 2025 and 1000MW by 2030.
