Hydro-Québec issues tender call for 1|5GW of wind power
Hydro-Québec has issued a tender for 1|500MW of electricity generated from wind power to meet the long-term electricity needs of its Québec customers.

Canadian utility Hydro-Québec has issued a tender for 1,500MW of electricity generated from wind power to meet the long-term electricity needs of its Québec customers.
Hydro-Québec anticipates an increase in the province’s electricity demand of 25TWh, or 14%, over the 2022–2032 period.
The tender was issued in time to ensure commissioning and connection to the grid can take place between 1 December 2027 and 1 December 2029.

The minimal requirements for bidders include an obligation to show that the proposed project has the support of the host community. Contracts also must be approved by the regulator Régie de l’énergie.
A pre-bid meeting for potential bidders is scheduled for early April and the project submission deadline is in September.
Hydro-Québec hired the firm Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton to help in the tendering process and to serve as its official representative.
