Kajima Poland completes 11.6MW solar plant for NGK Ceramics Polska

General contractor Kajima Poland and solar installer Hymon have completed the construction of a new solar photovoltaic power plant for a facility operated by NGK Ceramics Polska.
NGK Ceramics Polska is a Japanese automotive components manufacturer, in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland. The company will power its manufacturing activities with renewable energy generated by 20,000 panels covering a total area of 51,000 sqm.
The new power plant will produce 11,600MWh of energy annually, helping NGK to achieve carbon neutrality.
Kajima Poland supervised the design and construction processes and secured all necessary permits for the project. Hymon was responsible for the supply and installation of the solar panels, inverters and substructures.
Maciej Runkiewicz, president of Kajima Poland, said: “For the construction of the photovoltaic power plant for NGK, our many years of experience in building on various soils, including rocky ones, found here proved useful. In collaboration with Hymon, we developed a customised work technology and quality assurance plan for the foundation of the structure, which reduced the execution time and associated costs by, among other things, reducing the number of holes drilled in the ground by more than 80%.”

Grzegorz Rutkowski, the CEO of Hymon added: “We recognise that the scale of the project and its complexity demanded extensive expertise. Building such a large installation, starting from the structural phase, was challenging, particularly due to the rocky ground, which complicated the pile-driving process.
"A total of 55 people from our Hymon team, all of whom have many years of experience in the renewable energy sector, were involved in this project. We are proud of this achievement and I am pleased that we are contributing to our common goal—improving the air quality in the region.”
Since 2011, Hymon has been providing photovoltaic solutions and heating systems for households, industrial clients, and corporate customers. So far, the company has completed over 80,000 installation projects in Poland.
