Aker Solutions has secured a contract to supply all electromechanical equipment for the Tussa II hydropower plant, located in the Volda region of western Norway.

The plant, owned by Tussa Energi, is part of a capacity expansion initiative, that will see the existing facility modernised. The plant will be kept in operation for additional capacity once the new plant comes online.

The Tussa II hydropower plant will feature two 75MW Pelton turbine units providing a total installed capacity of 150MW. This will provide a notable increase from the existing 64MW plant.

As part of the scope, Aker Solutions will supply all electromechanical components including inlet pipes, Pelton turbines and generators, control systems, cooling and drainage systems, high‑voltage equipment, and transformers.
