The French nuclear power specialists will provide the outage services for the 1,410 MW Isar 2, 1,410 MW Brokdorf and the 1,360 MW Grohnde nuclear power plants for several years.

The scope of the contract also includes maintenance and in-service inspections of the primary circuit components, opening and closing of the reactor pressure vessel as well as refueling activities.

Located in Essenbach, Bavaria, the Isar 2 nuclear power plant provides about 15 per cent of the total electricity production in Bavaria while Grohnde nuclear station accounts for 15 per cent of the power generated in Lower Saxony.

The 80 per cent E.ON-owned Brokdorf nuclear station comprises a pressurized water nuclear reactor capable of generating about 12 billion kilowatt-hours of power.
