Dr Heather Johnstone, Director of Initiate at Enlit Europe, speaks to Dr Jill Miscandlon, Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Strathclyde University’s Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) in the UK, about the importance of making circularity a reality.
One of Jill’s research areas is the development of a more sustainable lifecycle for electrical machines through the use of a variety of circular economy principals.
She discusses the key aspects of the research project, including its main deliverables, as well as sharing some of her preliminary findings.
Overall, Jill makes a compelling case for why taking a circular approach to addressing the many challenges of building a low-carbon future is not a ‘nice to do’, but is a ‘must do’.
