“We are working to build a hydrogen economy in which the benefits of our energy transition are shared, and which harnesses the full potential of our skilled people, our worldclass industries, and our natural resources.”
In September 2024 the Scottish Government invited projects to apply for funding. From the applicants, 18 were asked to submit full applications, and from those the 11 successful projects were selected.
The funding forms part of the Scottish government's five-year Hydrogen Action Plan, which was published in December 2022. The plan aims to develop the region's hydrogen economy with the goals of reducing Scotland's greenhouse gas emissions and supporting job growth and economic development.
