ScottishPower gives cheap electricity for World Cup final
ScottishPower customers will receive two hours of half-price electricity during the FIFA World Cup Final if they have a communicating smart meter.

Customers of energy company ScottishPower will receive two hours of half-price electricity during the FIFA World Cup Final.
It’s the second such promotion run by ScottishPower, which gave customers an extra 12 hours of half-price electricity during every Scotland and England group-stage match – a bonus more than 30,000 customers benefitted from.
Andrew Ward of ScottishPower said it is the company's way of helping customers make the most of the occasion: "Football brings people together like few other occasions can and we wanted to give our customers another opportunity to save while taking in the game."

He said it was also an example of giving "customers more control over their energy use, helping them save money at the times that matter most to them".
In order to make use of the offer, ScottishPower customers will need a communicating smart meter and will need to consent to half-hourly readings being automatically shared.
Furthermore, they should download the SP app, sign up to Power Saver Plus, and ensure notifications are switched on to receive alerts ahead of the World Cup Final kicking off to opt in for their saving.
