Transforming a factory for the e-mobility future

Enlit on the Road exclusively spoke to Francis Kopp, co-founder and managing director at MOV'NTEC, a company in the Hauts-de-France region that has transformed its manufacturing plant from an electromechanical plant to an e-mobility plant.
Kopp speaks about taking over the plant from a German automation company in 2022 and notes that one of their main challenges was related to skills. He notes that even though they had the basics to work in e-mobility, it was difficult to find specialists to hire in the industry.

When it comes to European rules and regulations for the e-mobility industry, he believes that more can be done. "In Europe, we do not do enough in general for companies working in these areas. We should do the same as in other parts of the world like America or Asia..."
Sustainability in the industry is also an important topic, especially with the use of lithium-ion batteries. Kopp says that ways need to be found to reduce the batteries of the cars and also find ways to use second-hand batteries.
