Over the past 18 months, the WeForming project has been shaping the future of intelligent grid-forming buildings (iGFBs) across six diverse demo sites in Europe.
From EV charging energy hubs in Luxembourg to AI-optimised malls in Portugal, seasonal energy districts in Croatia, and thermal storage in Belgian homes, our pilots are testing how smart, flexible and interoperable buildings can support a more sustainable grid.
Each site explores new technologies and user-focused services, from digital twins and machine learning to bidirectional e-mobility, flexibility trading and rural energy community models.
