During an exclusive interview for Enlit Europe 2022, Michael Ulke and Dieter Tolsdorf from Pillars discuss with Yusuf Latief the current situation of Germany's grid and whether it is ready for all the renewables that will come online to meet the country's green goals.
Part of the issue, stated Tolsdorf, is that while the potential for renewables in the rural areas of the country is promising, the demand is from the more populated areas and the industrial sectors. And while the gap is being bridged, it is not being done fast enough.
