During an exclusive interview with Yusuf Latief for Enlit Europe 2022, Kai Schmied - 50Hertz Innovation Project Manager - speaks on the immense amount of electricity being consumed within the ICT sector and how shifting software usage provides immense flexible value for grid management.

According to Schmied the ICT sector consumes between 3 to 6% of global electricity demand, a figure which is expected to double over the next 10 years. And for Schmied's team over at Elia Group, the goal is to create transparency to help coordinate levels of software energy consumption.
