SF6 gas has been used in high voltage switchgear for over 50 years.
SF6 is technically great, but it is also the strongest greenhouse gas – 24,300 times than CO2. The EU will now phase it out.
In order to build a strong and sustainable electric grid, we need an alternative to SF6 gas. That is why the MISSION project is working to create SF6-free switchgear technologies.
