Anaïs Asselin, managing director of MEDEE spoke about how collaboration between companies and academics can foster innovation, research and development to drive the energy transition forward.

In an exclusive interview during Enlit on the Road: Hauts-de-France, Anaïs Asselin, the managing director of Motors and Electrical Devices for Energy Efficiency (MEDEE) Cluster, spoke about how cross-sector collaboration between companies and academics can foster innovation, research and development to drive the energy transition in France forward.

The MEDEE Cluster is dedicated to research and development in the field of electrical engineering and works on challenges focussed on energy, from renewable energy to smart grids and EVs.

Asselin believes that in order to reach the ambitious 2050 net-zero targets, collaboration between companies and academics is crucial. This is because universities and laboratories have skills and equipment available that companies need to be aware of and have access to.

“Companies and academics can work together to foster innovation and research development so that we can reach these ambitious targets.”

To find out whether Anaïs Asselin would choose electrification, digitalisation or security as a topic to focus on for future cross-sector collaboration in France, watch the full interview.
